Cry Uncle! (1971)

Before he received an Academy Award for directing Oscar’s Best Pic winner Rocky (1976), John G. Avildsen took on the bizarre comedy Cry Uncle! (1971). Back then, cinema proved to be a brave new world and this wacky flick was designed to turn mainstream moviemaking into a brave nude world. Character actor Alan Garfield (who already made a few nudie pics) steps in to strip down as private dick Jake Masters. He’s hired by a guy who’s being blackmailed by an old fellow cast member from an ancient porno, but that’s about as deep as the plot goes. It’s still a fun curio, though, with actual sex acts and a truly groundbreaking necrophilia scene. Of course, a lot of tickets were sold due to the promise of seeing Pamela Gruen sans clothing. Femme fatale Cora (Madeleine Le Roux) bares her breasts, bush and butt while getting busy with her partner in crime (Devin Goldenberg). Not to be upstaged, dead-sexy babe Connie (Nancy Salmon) reveals her rack, rump and muff. Too bad she’s been offed. Nevertheless, this stunning stiff may just give you a stiffy! If that’s not arousing enough, Lena Right (Maureen Byrnes) confirms she’s more than alright when she answers the door in the nude. After flashing her full frontal to Jake, she has un-simulated sex in a porn film within this film. Indeed, the skin flick showcases group sex between her character, Jason Dominic (David Kirk), and Olga Winter (Debbi Morgan). No wonder Cry Uncle! was a box office hit!
