Director Pierre Granier-Deferre explores sex in the halls of an elite French boarding school in the crackling taboo erotic drama Cours privé (1986). Translated as Private Classes, the film stars Élisabeth Bourgine as a fetching school teacher who’s unwittingly made an enemy at the hallowed private school where she works. It turns out that someone’s started a whisper campaign at the school, bent on implementing Jeanne (Bourgine) in a sex scandal with pupils. The innuendo causes no small amount of distress, but it isn’t until a photo appears that sparks really start to fly. Bourgine is every teen boy’s dream teacher, and she does a sensational job of stirring the pot just by strutting around in a salacious manner. Fortunately costar Emmanuelle Seigner is no less fetching as the object of Bourgine’s same-sex fantasies.
