Build the Wall (2020)

Chicago-based indie filmmaker and threesome enthusiast Joe Swanberg is back with his latest microbudget effort Build the Wall (2020). No, strangely this isn't a documentary about the defrauding of investors in the scheme to build a wall on our southern border, but rather a flick about a dude literally building a wall in his friend's yard. It's not really fair to call this a feature as it only runs 57 minutes. There should be some sort of designation, you have to hit at least an hour to be called a feature. Maybe it's an extended short, that's what we'll call it, that sounds best. Swanberg's latest extended short follows real life buddies Kent Osborne and Kevin Bewersdorf playing—wait for it—Kent and Kev, who hit a bit of a, shall we say, a wall in their friendship. During a raging party, a drunk Kent agrees to let Kev come and build a wall in Kent's yard to symbolize their friendship and manhood and probably something about wanting to have a threesome is in the mix as well. However, Kent is shocked and appalled when Kev actually begins working on building a wall. What did you think was gonna happen there, Kent? Steely Dan is also apparently in this, credited as such as well, which is nice. Indie legend and Tony winning brunette beauty Jane Adams is on hand to add some skin to the equation, baring all when she strips down to go skinny dipping with Osborne, and later sucking his dick in bed. Her back is to the camera, but we see him go from flaccid to fully erect, so you be the judge!
