The public perception of vampires is really quite limited. People in general think of the descendants of Dracula as monomaniacs whose only desire, ambition, and focus is the ingestion of human hemoglobin, to the exclusion of all other interests and pursuits. Perhaps the laboriously undead hero of Vampire Resurrection (2001) will serve to broaden that unfair and inimical definition. Vampire Resurrection’s lord of darkness has not clawed his way out of the grave with the thought of gulping down a long quaff of the hot red stuff. He has returned to the realm of life’s joys and sorrows in order to revisit and reclaim the lost true love of his red-cheeked youth. If she can see the good side of him, why can’t we?
