Truck Turner (1974) is a relic from a better time, an era when exploitation was king, where drive-in movie houses were the circulatory system for the blood and guts and sex we’ve come to expect from this cheap-o genre. It was a time when Isaac Hayes, the Black Moses, could carry a movie as its lead, with supporting players including Yaphet Kotto. Hayes is a former football player and current bounty hunter. Things get ugly when they try to capture a pimp/drug dealer, but kill him. Then things get sexy and bad when the pimp/drug dealer’s girl, played by Annik Borel, is topless and armed with stabbing scissors. That’s it for the nudity, but the heaviness continues, including more action than a pimp can supply you with.
