Tiny titan Toni Kalem is usually known as a tough Italian chick, but she’s actually Jewish. She was, however, born in New Jersey, so her role as the long-suffering wife of Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero, Angie, on The Sopranos does make a little bit of sense. And while the hit HBO series was her last gig as an actress, it most certainly wasn’t her first. She actually got her start on soap operas in the mid-‘70s, picking up roles in The Doctors and Another World before transitioning to walk-on roles in primetime programs like Kojak, Baretta, Starsky and Hutch, and Police Woman. Toni’s first feature film was The Wanderers (1979), playing the role of Despie Galasso opposite Ken Wahl, and her second was the absolutely memorable Private Benjamin, playing Pvt.
