Review

The small-scale Canadian-made thriller The Silent Partner (1978) garnered big raves and an enduring cult following as one of the "sleeper" films of 1978. Elliott Gould plays a put-upon bank teller who, while his branch is being robbed by a whacked-out crook (Christopher Plummer), manages to stash most of the money in his own safe-deposit box. When the bad guy gets wise, Gould's schnook character enters a cat-and-mouse scenario that's nearly as thrilling for viewers as the abundance of naked starlets on hand.
