Duress such as that caused by the threat of being put to death if certain unreasonable and nonnegotiable deadlines are not met causes a suspense that anyone who has ever failed to finish his homework on time can relate to, which makes The Delivery (1999) a super anxiety-causing road-to-ruination caper that has enough plot turns and twists of coercion to make it universally effective as a knickers knotter. The intertwining story lines concern two quick-moving, semi-legal factions, each of whom has been promised extermination if they fail to travel a great distance and perform a compromising task in a timely manner. Asocial, amoral, high-adrenaline adventure ensues.
