Before Whitney Houston belted out the mega-hit “I Will Always Love You” in The Bodyguard (1992), the song’s writer Dolly Parton performed it in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982). Of course, Dolly did a lot more than that in this romantic comedy. For starters, she revealed her … sense of humor. In addition to Ms. Parton’s charms, the R rated flick features Burt Reynolds, Lois Nettleton, Dom DeLuise, Jim Nabors, Noah Beery Jr., and the topless talents of Anne Gaybi! Based on the Broadway musical of the same name, the film centers around the “Chicken Ranch” where guys go to get their cocks a-doodle done! As such, Ms. Gaybi (and her nude boobs) can be seen in bed with a paying dude. Alas, Dolly doesn’t flash as much flesh since she plays the place’s madam. Even so, we are treated to views of her scantily-clad mams! Perhaps that’s why the Golden Globes gave her a Best Actress nomination. If that’s not impressive enough, the movie also picked up a Best Comedy or Musical nod while Charles Durning scored an Academy Award nom for Best Supporting Actor. Of course, Mr. Skin most relates to Burt’s character since Mr. Reynolds plays a sheriff in love with the pic’s bodacious blond bombshell. While Dolly’s twin torpedoes are always loaded, it’ll be home viewers who explode as they watch her cornfed cup-busters bounce to the catchy tunes “Sneakin’ Around” and “The Aggie Song”. Oh, how we’d love to hum along with this Backwoods Barbie!
