Soo (2022)

This Estonian film, also known as The Bog, centers on a young artist named Toomas Haava (Franz Malmsten) who recently returns from Paris to his brother’s swampy farmstead. He witnesses a violent, axe-wielding brute named Madjak (Martin Kork) terrorizing a local girl named Hilda (Hanna-Ly Aavik) and is drawn to both her beauty and the need to defend her. Who wouldn’t be after witnessing the head-turning Hanna-Ly uncover her bare backside before slipping into a lake for some daytime skinny-dipping? Franz whips it out - his sketchpad, duh - to draw the beautiful stranger because Hanna-Ly’s heavenly body is a true work of art!
