Point Blank (1967) is the tough guy's tough-guy movie. It stars the hardest of the hard, Lee Marvin, as well as Angie Dickinson, who gets audiences the hardest they've ever been. The existential plot follows Marvin, who's been shot after his wife Sharon Acker and partner John Vernon turncoat on him during a robbery. He escapes from Alcatraz and brutally attempts to retrieve his share of the take. Angie offers the soft spots between all this macho posturing and sweetens the mix with her first onscreen skin. To get a shot of her point blank is never a missed opportunity.
