Piñero (2001)

Miguel Piñero was an iconic figure in Latin American culture, and his story gets told in the film Piñero (2001). As a poet and playwright, Piñero, in retrospect, gets credited as an initiating influence for rap and hip-hop through the creation of his urban poetic voice. He winds up spending some time in prison for drug and theft charges, and uses that experience to make the play Short Eyes. The play put him on the map and success got to be too much for him. Talisa Soto, playing the role of Sugar, gives us a couple of sexy scenes, showing us her bod that always stays covered with a bra and underwear. Aside from her, there’s also some anonymous toplessness from random hookers and strippers. He may have done hard time in prison, but around her, he’ll always be hard!
