Sun Kissed (2006) is arthouse softcore of the boy-on-boy sort, with John Ort and Gregory Marcel making goo-goo eyes at each other while indie sweeties The Sea and Cake coo and coo and coo on the soundtrack. John is an aspiring novelist who has been given the use of a benefactor's boondocks home to focus on his book; Greg is the caretaker, and once John lays eyes on him, he can't think about anything but taking care of him . . . in bed! There are a few kinks to be worked out with regard to Greg's past, though: Is this young stud just a little befuddled, or is he completely sick in the head? Is his wife really dead? Did he ever really have a woman in his bed? And if he did, did he do the deed that did her in for good? Sun Kissed takes a surrealist turn toward David Lynchish weirdness, flashing back into the past and into alternate realities but always returning to its main theme of two dudes who want to do each other.
