Few noticed when New Year's Evil (1981) was released, but it’s certainly one of the most interesting holiday-themed slasher films ever made. Roz Kelly--still searching for a break after playing Pinky Tuscadero on Happy Days--stars as a punk/glam DJ hosting a New Year’s Eve concert in Los Angeles. Too bad that slasher Kip Niven is working his way towards her, while killing a different person for each time zone that ushers in midnight. It’s still a good year, though, since Niven keeps coming across hotties like Teri Copley and Louisa Moritz. And it all leads up to an amazing climax where Roz is almost elevatored to death.
