Mea Culpa (2024)

Tyler Perry wrote and directed this Netflix thriller centered on a defense attorney named Mea (Kelly Rowland) who’s marriage is struggling due to her aimless, unemployed hubby (Sean Sagar) and his controlling, cancer-stricken mother (Kerry O’Malley). Mea gets the chance to defend an artist named Zyair (Trevante Rhodes) accused of murdering his girlfriend, which would pit her against her husband’s brother Ray (Nick Sagar), who’s the Chicago District Attorney. She turns it down at first, but when her mother-in-law bristles at the idea of her taking on this seemingly un-winnable case, Mea rebelliously decides she’s up to the challenge after all. She and Zyair then enter into a passionate affair as she learns more abut her client’s past, despite the fact that he may or may not be a murderer. Kelly flashes some sideboob in bed having some vanilla sex with Sean, but shows even more mam when she and Trevante get kinky on a tarp with some paint. The film also has Candice Fawcett debuting her tantalizing Tn’A as Trevante’s naughty neighbor and occasional sex partner, who appears to thank him for the cup of sugar by giving him a sweet BJ.
