Review

The penal system portrayed in the German comedy Männerpension (1996) is almost too good to be true; in order to rehabilitate male convicts, the state decrees that they be set free one weekend out of the month, chaperoned by a female companion. Inmates Steinbock (Til Schweiger) and Gerhard (Detlev Buck) can hardly believe their good fortune. As the two convicts await their heavenly sojourn, they put together a plan to rob a nearby bank. But when they get a look at their escorts, crime takes a back seat to their carnal desires. Marie Bäumer and Jenny Elvers star as the ravishing chaperones who show they know how to mix work and pleasure by getting naked on the job.
