After running away from home at a young age, Mae Mercer had a career as a blues singer that took her to the bars and clubs of New York City and Paris, France. She made her movie debut overseas in the French-Italian co-production Le Glaive et la balance (1963). Back in the States, Mae appeared in two Clint Eastwood movies, Dirty Harry (1971) and The Beguiled (1971), where she briefly flashed her funbags when some dude tried to rip off her shirt. She went on to appear in the drive-in classics Frogs (1972) and The Swinging Cheerleaders (1974), the Brooke Shields vehicle Pretty Baby (1978), and a string of TV shows. Her last role was in a 2004 episode of The Shield, which coincidentally featured a brief glimpse of the chocolate milk sacks of Nicki Micheaux.
