Review

Mad Love (2001) is just that, a Spanish period piece about Queen Joan the Mad. No, she's not upset because of her monthly complaint. Pilar López de Ayala, as the Queen, has an arranged marriage to Philip the Handsome, but the way this horn-dog buries his bone he should be called Philip the Pussyhound. Pilar catches the mutt in the doghouse with Carolina Bona, who's bare breasts are sure to give audiences a Bona. Pilar retaliates by cutting off her husband's hair. Philip declares her insane, and Pilar is imprisoned. Now free to roam, Philip gets some tail in the shapely and full-frontal form of Manuela Arcuri, as a Moorish dancer. No wonder Pilar is mad, she's not getting anything!
