Katie Says Goodbye (2018)

Shakespeare said “parting is such sweet sorrow” which may explain why so many movies feature a separation in the title. Most notable are the rom-com classics Goodbye, Columbus (1969) and The Goodbye Girl (1977). There are also thrillers from The Long Goodbye (1973) to Goodbye, Butterfly (2021) with the foreign films Goodbye First Love (2011), Goodbye Morocco (20112), Goodbye to Language (2014) and Goodbye, Berlin (2016) in between. Whether choosing a biopic (1976’s Goodbye, Norma Jean), action flick (1981’s Goodbye Pork Pie) or dramedy (2014’s Goodbye to All That), audiences always say hello to goodbye-named movies. So, it’s no wonder Wayne Roberts called his picture Katie Says Goodbye (2019). Thanks to the indie filmmaker’s writing and directing, the drama follows a 17-year-old named, you guessed it, Katie (Olivia Cooke). She lives in a trailer park in the Southwest and dreams of leaving everything behind to go to San Francisco. Even though she works as a waitress, Katie decides to earn extra money to move by turning tricks! The movie includes views of Mary Steenburgen, Mireille Enos, Natasha Bassett, and Ms. Cooke’s bra-clad boobs. If that’s not hot enough, the hottie sheds her threads while in bed with her boyfriend Bruno (Christopher Abbott). He’s both a mechanic and an ex-convict so he knows how to work on her. As such, we get to see her bare breasts during and after sex. In other words, fast-forward to the 21-, 27-, and 36-minute marks. Needless to say, we could never say goodbye to Olivia’s chest!
