The story of Jesus Christ has been one of the most enduring dramas of the past two thousand years, and the ups and downs of the Son of God are certainly sufficient to support a mini-series. Jesus (1999) is a reverential, serious depiction of the Good Shepherd’s rise from town carpenter to Universal Prince of Peace. The title character is, of course, a fox, as played by professionally handsome Jeremy Sisto, and his mom, Mary, is gorgeous too. She is, after all, portrayed by the international eternal beauty Jacqueline Bisset. The ascension of Jesus is not without its rough spots. Prepare to hiss at Gary Oldman as the villainous Pilate.
