I Do Not Care If We Go Down in History as Barbarians (2019) was the official selection for Romania as a contender for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars and for a good reason. This critically acclaimed and heavy drama from writer and director Radu June asks us to take a look at the toughest parts of a country's history and see how it affects the present. "I do not care if we go down in history as barbarians" was the quote spoken by dictator Ion Antonescu in the Council of Ministers in 1941 after the Roma and Jewish genocide on the Eastern front that killed about 400,000 people. This film is a satire that looks at the past through stories of people in the present and how they go about their business even when confronted with the dirty deeds of their ancestors that happened not so long ago. We want to be confronted with any dirty deed that lead actress Ioana Iocab who gets totally naked from head to bush. Seriously, we get to check out her hairy black bush when she sits down naked and then covers her chest in a green hoodie. Ladies might be green with envy over those perfect titties.
