Emmanuelle (2024)

The French feature that kicked off the 72nd San Sebastian Film fest was inspired by the erotic novel by French Thai author Emmanuelle Arsen (and the previous films that followed it) about a woman who sets out on an international voyage of sexual self-discovery under varying circumstances. Noemie Merlant plays the titular sex-plorer who can't wait to touch down in Hong Kong before getting her groove on so she has sex with a handsome stranger in the surprisingly roomy airplane bathroom. We get to see Noemie au naturale several times as she bares her Bs in the bathtub, in bed, and while getting down and dirty with men and women alike. Chacha Huang is also along for the ride for her nudecomer debut, showing up in her bra (and no panties it seems) while seductively smoking a cigarette and going topless while trying on clothes in Noemie's hotel room. This isn't a business trip, it's ALL pleasure.
