Hell Up in Harlem (1973)

Hell Up in Harlem (1973) stars Fred “The Hammer” Williamson as a gangster in Harlem who must rescue his ex-wife after she is kidnapped by the mob. Guess he really doesn’t have to, but what kind of movie would we have if he just shrugged it off. It was the time, you know, when blaxploitation was flexing its muscles and to do that there had to be some kind of plot or else it would just look silly, people all dressed up with no where to go. It’s directed by exploitation master Larry Cohen, but it’s better known for Margaret Avery’s breasts, which come out to play in a lovemaking scene with the Hammer.
