Streetwise sixteen-year-olds develop a close friendship when they’re not busy selling their bodies for drugs in the racy erotic drama Hardcore (2004). Martha (Katerina Tsavalou) and Nadia (Danai Skiadi) hustle for their next fix under the watchful eyes of a violent pimp (Andreas Marianos). When their boss stiffs them, however, Nadia talks Martha and her current flame into scaring the punk straight. The plan backfires spectacularly when the pimp and two other prostitutes wind up dead, sending Nadia and Martha on the run from the law and to their inevitable downfalls. Director Dennis Iliadis would never have gotten away with titling his film Hardcore if he wasn’t prepared to deliver on the title’s promise. Tsavalou and Skiadi certainly live up to the billing, treating their boyfriends and johns to marathon boff sessions in the tub, in bed, and other, more exotic locales.
