Goodbye Lover (1998)

Infidelity makes for ill-advised bedfellows. The illicit sex buddies of Goodbye Lover (1999) may have thought long and hard before taking the plunge into forbidden pleasure, but those long, hard thoughts were more prurient than prudent. Certainly the taboo allure a young wife feels for her young husband's older brother is understandable, somewhat natural, and not beyond being platonically reciprocated by big bro. But when in-laws become bone pals, the consequences will seldom fall short of catastrophic, especially when all this inter-family hanky-panky takes place within the confines of a comic Hollywood crime thriller. The cheating hearts should have known before they crossed the line into sick love that a corpse would be needed within the next few scenes.
