Godspeed (2022)

The Turkish film Godspeed (2022) takes a look at loyalty and the lengths to which some people will go to prove their loyalty to others. Yüzbasi (Engin Akyürek) is an ex-Army captain whose best friend died during a botched combat mission, leaving Yüzbasi with a ton of guilt. Several months later, he gets discharged from the Army and gets wind that his deceased friend's fiancée (Belfu Benian) is going to marry another man. Wracked with guilt over his friend's death, he decides to travel to the wedding to convince the fiancée not to go through with the marriage and finds himself falling for her instead. It may sound like a Hallmark movie set-up, but trust us, it's substantially more depressing than that. It's also got more skin than you'd find in a Hallmark movie, with Belfu Benian making her nude debut, baring her breasts while making out with a guy on a couch!
