Gloria Leonard is the grand dame of adult film actresses. Blessed with statuesque height at 5’10”, and a figure measuring 40-33-37, the brown-haired, brown-eyed honey started her naked film career as Nancy in Sex Maniac in 1975, when she was 35 years old, and appeared in the video Ooze in 2000, one of her last credits, at the age of 60. In between, she starred in over 70 adult films, including Candy Lips (1976), My Sex-Rated Wife (1977), Maraschino Cherry (1978), Little Blue Box (1979), Real Estate (1982), Burlexxx (1984), and Sex Appeal (1986) and Bad Girls IV (1986), which Mr. Skin shares right here (he’s really generous). Oh, and there was one totally random appearance on an episode of the primetime television hit Simon & Simon in 1984, where she played a Saleslady (Mr. Skin is, too, perplexed). In one of her most famous sex roles, Taboo American Style and its three sequels (all released in 1985), Gloria played the role of Emily Sutherland, the matriarch figure of a sex-oriented family—not unlike her real-life role as the doyenne of porn. The glorious Gloria was so committed to her choice of career, she served as Administrative Director of the Adult Film Association from 1989-1992, and later, as the 1998 president of Free Speech Coalition, the US trade association for the adult entertainment industry. Away from the screen, Gloria offered the public a print version of sexy times by taking over the adult magazine High Society, which featured hardcore pictorials of nude models and occasionally celebrities; she was the publisher for 14 years. The truly dazzling and daring star passed away in 2014 at the age of 73.
