Born in Saint-Marc, Haiti, and raised in Massachusetts, Garcelle Beauvais was introduced to moviegoers in Manhunter (1986), the movie which also debuted the diabolical Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Hannibal the Cannibal was new to the scene and perhaps a bit unsure of his sinister steps, so he can be forgiven for not dining on the delectable meat of Garcelle. She, on the other hand, was already a working stiff, making TV audiences wanking stiff from her appearances on Miami Vice (1984). Garcelle started making a name for herself opposite Eddie Murphy in Coming to America (1988), and all red-blooded American males were coming after her. Aaron Spelling was so smitten that he cast her in his short-lived TV series Models, Inc. (1994), but it was a role on NYPD Blue (2001) that made Garcelle a star. As sexy as she is, it's surprising that the producers of that decidedly dirty show didn't have Garcelle peel for the camera. The closest she's come to flashing her finery was doing Will Smith in Wild Wild West (1999). She's naked, but she manages to hide her good bits. If she had only exposed some of that sweetness, then the movie could have added another Wild to its title. At least Garcelle gave us the gift of a sex scene on the crime drama series Power (2014). Sadly, the star is still mostly covered, but at least we get to watch cleavage spill out of her bra and enjoy a brief nip slip! Someday we hope to see Beauvais' beav-ais!
