With Friday the 13th (1980), Hollywood saw an indie slasher flick launch a bunch of bloody sequels and a big budget reboot. The movie introduced gore-obsessed audiences to a new anti-hero in Jason (Ari Lehman), as well as his tragic origins at Camp Crystal Lake.
