Formula 51 (2001)

Formula 51 (2001), also known as The 51st State, is an action-comedy-crime hybrid about an American master chemist who plans to score big on a once in a lifetime drug deal. All does not go as planned and he is soon entangled in a web of deceit. Why are we never entangled in a web of good fortune or nudity or candy? That aside, the movie stars Samuel L. Jackson as the chemist, who has created a super-potent drug that is legal, and is ready to cash in on his invention. We won’t spoil how this resolves itself, enough for us to say that Jackson is a pleasure to watch chewing up the scenery. Even more pleasurable is Emily Mortimer, who flashes a nipple in the bathtub in a scene with Robert Carlyle.
