Canadian body horror maestro David Cronenberg took a break from his more horrific visions to make the Canadian racing action flick Fast Company (1979). Nestled between his much more Cronenberg-esque films Rabid (1977) and The Brood (1979), this diversion into the world of fast cars, macho men, and loose women doesn't bear many hallmarks of the director's best known work, likely because it was the first film he directed that he didn't also write himself. Aging drag racer "Lucky Man" Johnson (William Smith) races for a team owned by powerful oil conglomerate Fast Company and run by the cutthroat Phil Adamson (B-movie icon John Saxon) and seems to love wasting the company's money on elaborate mechanical work that ends up backfiring. While his bosses plan to bring him in line, Lucky Man's got some plans of his own, however, which involve him getting his protege Billy "The Kid" Brooker (Nicholas Campbell) into the pole position on the team and putting their competition to shame. He's also terribly lovelorn, missing his longtime girlfriend Sammy (Claudia Jennings), while Billy the Kid has eyes for the new Fast Company spokeswoman Candy (Judy Foster) whom is currently being courted by Adamson. Even if all of these various fast machines don't crash into one another, they're obviously all on a collision course with destiny! Spoiler alert, Billy the Kid finally does bed Candy, with Judy Foster baring her breasts twice in the film, along with bonus boobage from Cheri Hilsabeck and Sonya Ratke as a pair of groupies The Kid also sleeps with! Fast Company will get your arm moving fast!
