In the German comedy Ex und hopp - Ein böses Spiel um Liebe, Geld und Bier (1991), unscrupulous beer brewer Heinrich Hartholz (Mario Adolf), along with the burly bad dude Markus Keller (Manfred Zapatka), team up to drive beer wholesalers to bankruptcy in order to take over their businesses. The scheming duo enjoy their success until Gaby (Désirée Nosbusch), the wife of a local brewer, enters the picture and pits the devious dudes’ against each other, slowing their underhanded operation.
