Career gals Andie MacDowell, Imelda Staunton, and Anna Chancellor are a tough-talking trio in search of their respective Romeos in Crush (2001), John McKay's take on female bonding, boozing, and booty-cruising on the road to true love. Andie's the American boss of a British private school, and every week she gets together with Imelda, who's a copper, and Anna, who's a doctor, to share their romantic antics and wooing woes while smoking and drinking and quaffing chocolate. They're successful in their careers, but they just can't win in the love department . . . until Andie meets a dandy fella who just happens to have been her student a few years back! At first, Andie's randy pals laugh it off, but soon enough they're trying to talk her out of taking the tryst too seriously. Is Andie's happiness a fleeting thing, or is this relationship more than a fling? Imelda and Anna take drastic measures to separate the lovers, but tragedy ensues.
