Carnivore (2000) may have no budget, but horror films don’t need no stinkin’ budgets! They also don’t need no acting, direction, camerawork, plot, editing and sound, as this schlock attests. But if we wanted art we’d join a museum. Just give us a secret government project that has created a carnivorous monster that reacts to pheromones and escapes just as four horny teenagers are camping out in a haunted house. That is an invitation to gore. There’s also some skin, not a lot, that would have involved money or planning or something that these filmmakers weren’t interested in, but they still managed to find Pamela Thompson and get her topless for a sex scene.
