Carlito's Way (1993)

When Puerto Rican smack-dealing badass Carlito Brigante--immortally embodied by Al Pacino--gets out of prison on a technicality after serving five years of a thirty-year sentence, he finds that marijuana and mini skirts have been replaced by snitches, new-jack hustlers, and disco music. His lawyer, Dave Kleinfeld (Sean Penn), has ingested half the cocaine in Manhattan and gotten in over his head with a Mafia don. Carlito takes over a club that Kleinfeld had invested in and plans to run it until he can make enough to retire with his girlfriend Gail (Penelope Ann Miller). But before Carlito can move to a warm-weather climate and sell cars to tourists, he'll need to help Kleinfeld knock off the Mafia don, run from several men looking to whack him, and duck the DA looking to throw him back in the slammer. Pacino is great, Penn is amazing, and Miller is at her white-hot sexiest!
