There was a time in the early '90s when it appeared that Penelope Ann Miller was on the verge of superstardom. This L.A. native was the main female in a string of box-office hits, and her giggly intelligence was something that audiences seemed to be taking a liking to. In films such as Kindergarten Cop (1990) and Other People's Money (1991) she proved that smart and normal could be very sexy. She also played off her seductive, sexual side in a couple of gangster flicks: The Freshman (1990), where she embodied the tempting, underage daughter of godfather Marlon Brando, and Carlito's Way (1993), where she showed the world her marvelous mams go-go dancing in a tempting topless scene. Naked roles for this lanky redhead seem to have dried up in recent years, although she scored a surprise hit with the horror film The Relic (1997), and she's since gone on to a number of sexy turns that seem to be inching ever closer back to nudity. Let's hope she keeps it up--and us while she's at it.
