Brand Upon the Brain! (2006)

A silent black-and-white semi-autobiographical fantasy by Canadian arthouse favorite Guy Maddin, Brand Upon the Brain! (2006) tells the story of a character named Guy Maddin (Erik Steffen Maahs) who returns to his childhood home to carry out his dead mother’s last wish that he paint her lighthouse, which is also an orphanage. As soon as he arrives, Guy begins having flashbacks to his childhood involving murdered orphans, black magic, mad scientists, and all other sorts of silent-movie conventions. Along the way, we see boobage from Gretchen Krich, Maya Lawson, and Katherine Scharhon, and that will have you putting your hand upon your thang!
