Directed by the legendary Russ Meyer right after his contract with 20th Century Fox ended, the shot-on-location exploitation flick and box-office bomb Black Snake (1973) stars actress-turned-hotelier Anouska Hempel as the cruel mistress of a Caribbean plantation circa 1835 on the eve of a slave rebellion. Anouska, cast at the last minute due to the original star’s illness, eventually married into the British aristocracy and bought up all the UK rights to the movie so no one could ever see it again. But she wasn’t the only one who had trouble with people looking at her rack. Apparently Meyer felt that Hempel’s hooters were far too small and edited in some stunt boobs during the topless scenes. Once again, Russ Meyer proves his qualification for sainthood.
