Alice Prin Nude

Alice Prin was the Queen of Montparnasse, a muse and model to the burgeoning modernist art movement that settled in that section of Paris. A poor illegitimate child, by the age of 14 she was posing nude for sculptors. She didn’t live long, dying at 51 in 1953, from apparent complications of alcoholism and drug dependence. However, her body of work, usually naked, has been immortalized by artists such as Man Ray, who photographed her with F-holes, like in a double-bass or cello, giving her naked body the look of a musical instrument.
