A myth about a strange flying beast that terrorizes visitors to New Jersey’s Pine Barrens underpins the creepy genre exercise 13th Child: The Legend of the Jersey Devil (2002). Allegedly witnessed by thousands of visitors to the New Jersey woods, the creature is described in myths as a giant winged monster with an affinity for snatching humans in its knife-sharp talons. In Steven Stockage’s horror film, the creature acts as an antagonist for a police detective (Michelle Maryk) and a D.A. (Lesley-Anne Down) desperate to get to the bottom of a rash of killings. One of the victims is poor Robyn Parsons, who just finds time to flash her fabulous rack before experiencing some most unusual coitus interruptus.
