Zuckerbrot (2003)

A female hood struggles with the realities of life outside of prison walls in the acclaimed German television production Zuckerbrot (2003). Marie Zielcke stars as Jenny, a pretty young woman who gets caught up in a larceny ring with Russian-German immigrant Mitja (Ivan Shvedoff) when her sentence is commuted. Vowing to put an end to her life of crime, Jenny decides to pull one last job before fleeing to Mitja’s Russian homeland. She quickly realizes, however, that the situation may be out of her control. Hartmut Schoen’s drama is shot in a dim, artsy fashion, but even the poor lighting is enough to reveal why Zielcke’s one of the most irresistibly nubile actresses currently working in German cinema.
