Witchery (1988)

David Hasselhoff and Linda Blair headline the curious cast of Fabrizio Laurenti’s spooky gothic chiller about a group of vacationers who take refuge in a haunted hotel. Witchery (1988) is set off the Massachusetts coast, on an island where supernatural researcher Linda (Catherine Hickland) is keen to study ghosts. A summer storm picks up quickly, however, driving Linda and her husband, Gary (Hasselhoff), into an inn with a clutch of other tourists, where their company for the night is the departed spirit of a deadly witch. Thrills and chills abound in and around shots of Hoff’s unspeakable mullet, but it’s Hickland who steals the show outright by dreaming about a topless encounter with a frightening supernatural ogre.
