Not to be confused with Atom Egoyan’s NC-17-rated showbiz drama Where the Truth Lies (2005), the William H. Molina-directed neo-noir Where Truth Lies (1996) describes a doctor’s trying rehabilitation process. After losing his wife to a tragic car accident, Ian Lazarre (John Savage) is plagued by vivid nightmares about her fiery demise. The man’s torments grow so severe that he has himself checked in to an experimental rehab facility, where a buxom nurse (Candice Daly) tries her best to distract him from the calamity. Perhaps predictably, the plan works––before long the widowed doc is dreaming of his curvy caretaker’s sensational rack.
