The vivacious and voluptuous Vilma Vega comes our way from a little village on the outskirts of Lima, Peru. Vilma comes from a family of indigenous people who settled in the village and are all native Quechua language speakers who put together a little shanty town and called it home. Her mom washed laundry and Vilma decided that she was going to immigrate to the US when she was still quite young, landing in California at the age of 15, then finding herself pregnant at 17! She taught herself how to speak English, raised her son on her own, and knew all the struggles that come along with being on your own, so it makes it all the more satisfying to see this beautiful and strong woman make it big! Vilma hasn't really been in anything outside of a short film in 2018 called Designer Genes, but she is poised to be a star now that the meta-indie film that she stars in and helped co-write is getting critical praise and attention in the festival circuits, Ayar (2021). The film follows single mother and immigrant, Ayar, as she travels back home to be with her daughter during the Covid-19 pandemic. The story is part documentary, part narrative, and fully breaks most rules while telling the heartfelt story of mother/daughter, but with Vilma helping to pen the story, it is also part autobiographical as well! She plays Renata, the grandmother who is refusing to let her daughter see her grandchild for fear of infection and the very sexy Vilma has a shower scene that ends with her in her undies in the bathroom, telling her tale.
