Weary of his dysfunctional but perpetually interesting family life, a German youngster yearns for a taste of “normal” experience in the made-for-TV coming-of-age drama Verschwinde von hier (2000). Jonathan Beck stars as Lukas, a precocious youngster who feels constrained by his father, Janosch (Michael Brandner), a beer-swilling, blue-collar patriarch who’s more rough around the edges than Lukas would like. Wishing ardently for a suave and sophisticated dad, Lukas pursues a father swap but comes out wishing that he’d stuck with the foul-mouthed but affectionate man who raised him. One thing can certainly be said about the coarse but charismatic Janosch--he’s got a fine eye for women. Perky blonde goddess Gruschenka Stevens stars as the man’s girlfriend, a curvy broad with an irresistible penchant for dancing naked.
