Visionary oddball David Lynch brought the surrealism of his films Eraserhead (1977), Blue Velvet (1986) and Wild at Heart (1990) to ABC's primetime lineup with the ground-breaking murder mystery Twin Peaks. When dead high-school hottie Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) washes up all wrapped in plastic along the coast of the titular Pacific Northwest hamlet, FBI Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) is dispatched to crack the case. But Laura's life wasn't as idealic as it seemed on the outside, and soon enough Dale is making all sorts of dark discoveries. Even if it only lasted two season on primetime, network television, the wooded world of weirdness he discovers made for one of TV’s most memorable dramas, with wacky stuff like the lady who walks around holding a log, the red room of dancing little people who speak backwards, and a sexy femme fatale who comes with her own theme music, all becoming iconic oddities. Not to be confused with the breastaurant of the same name, one of the best parts of the show was that the female cast became a who’s who of gorgeous actresses who’d get happily undressed on camera for years to come. Among the Peaks who were never shy about letting us peek were Sherilyn Fenn, Lara Flynn Boyle, Mädchen Amick, Joan Chen, and Heather Graham. It took twenty five years, but Twin Peaks came back with a vengeance in 2017, making the leap from network TV to Showtime! That means it was grow time as nudity was now permissible, and Lynch wasted no time giving us the goods! In the two-part season debut, Madeline Zima bared her boobs and buns while preparing to get busy with a guy! As refreshing as the 90's wine mixer after which she was not actually named. The third episode brought more hoots and glutes, this time from the lovely Nafessa Williams who is playing a Black prostitute involved with MacLachlan's Agent Cooper! Naomi Watts went for a ride on top of our favorite Fed, but didn't flash like she did in Lynch's Mulholland Drive (2001). Watts up with that? Luckily, a few decades after giving us wild hard ons in Wild at Heart, Lauran Dern made her grand return, flashing buns and boobies in a darkly lit scene. Beyond that, we get a bit of ass and jugs from a dead Nae Yuki. Who knew watching a weirdo investigate the death of Laura Palmer would give us such hairy palms? Truly the peak of weird TV, our peckers sure appreciated seeing Twin Peaks on premium cable!
