Transamerica (2005)

Desperate Housewives (2004-2012) star Felicity Huffman went from the small screen to the big screen (and from female to male to female) with the R-rated flick Transamerica (2005). Duncan Tucker’s dramedy follows Bree Osbourne (Huffman), a male-to-female transsexual who sets off on a cross-country journey to meet a troubled 17-year-old named Toby Wilkins (Kevin Zegers). The timing isn’t great because it’s one week before Bree’s vaginoplasty surgery. Nevertheless, the trip is necessary since the kid claims to be the long lost son of Stanley Schupak (aka Bree Osbourne), and psychiatrist Margaret (Elizabeth Peña) won’t sign off on the operation if Bree doesn’t address the past. Throughout the story, you’ll experience laughs, fears, tears, and other emotions as Felicity’s character and her fellow cast members encounter the complexities of life. The film features Graham Greene, Fionnula Flanagan, Burt Young, Carrie Preston, and Ms. Huffman’s fine flesh! In one scene, we are treated to a view of Felicity’s full frontal nudity as she scrubs up in the tub. No doubt, you’ll want to rub a dub dub when watching the skintastic actress’s bobbing breasts and submergered furburgerage. In fact, her bubble bath may make you reach for your own towel! Perhaps that’s why the acclaimed babe won over movie critics and industry colleagues with a bunch of accolades. In addition to nabbing an Oscar nomination, Felicity was named Best Actress by the National Board of Review, the Phoenix Film Critics Society, and the Hollywood Foreign Press. We’re guessing the latter liked her golden globes!
