Any fans of daytime TV will tell you that one sharp look from the baby blue eyes of Tonja Walker could mean the end of you! That's correct, this soap opera legend has been on some of the foremost daytime series since she was discovered as a finalist at the Miss USA Pageant all the way back in late 1970s. Tonja was born in Huntington, West Virginia in 1960 and after becoming a local and later a national pageant queen, she took some advice and headed out to Los Angeles to try getting some acting jobs, which she immediately did. She was cast opposite Matt Dillon and several other up and coming stars in the 1981 drama Liar's Moon, which also marks her Nudecomer debut to the silver screen, when she strips down in front of an open window. This all happened within her first couple of weeks in Hollywood, which is impressive to say the least! After that she landed plenty of TV work on shows like Mr. Merlin, Capitol, Hunter, T.J. Hooker, and then her biggest break came as Olivia St. John on General Hospital, a role she has played since 1988! Tonja has also been a staple on other daytime soaps like One Life to Live, Passions, and Guiding Light, even getting a daytime Emmy nomination for her role on the former. With a career spanning four different decades, it's always great to see new projects coming out and Tonja is now lending her voice talents to video games too as well as working on feature films, TV series, and pretty much being about as beautiful as they come to this day!
