Born in Brooklyn, Cathryn de Prume attended New York’s High School for the Performing Arts, then studied acting at the State University of New York at Purchase. She made her acting debut as Goldi Lox in the comedy horror flick Deadtime Stories (1986) opposite Melissa Leo, and showed off her assets right away, showering and singing as the water sluiced over her ripe breasts. Ahem. Her second big-screen adventure was playing Brita in Five Corners (1987), starring Jodie Foster and Tim Robbins, and written by John Patrick Shanley (Moonstruck, Doubt). For her third feature film, she was a showgirl in Bloodhounds of Broadway (1989), starring Madonna and Jennifer Grey, and a shit-ton (actual unit of measurement) of famous faces. In her fourth film, she was a bartender to Titus Welliver’s “redneck in a bar” in Navy Seals (1990) with Charlie Sheen and Bill Paxton. To say that Cathryn knows how to pick good co-stars is an understatement. Her movie credits also include playing Oakley in CrissCross (1992) with Goldie Hawn; as Karen in Terminal Velocity (1994) with Charlie Sheen, Nastassja Kinski, and James Gandolfini; Renee in Mrs. Winterbourne (1996) with Shirley MacLaine; playing Carole Grantham in Ask Me Anything (2014) with Christian Slater and Martin Sheen; and as Stacey in Wild with Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern. Her TV credits are no less impressive, with small roles in big primetimes shows like Northern Exposure, Coach, Blossom, Crossing Jordan, NYPD Blue, ER, Grey’s Anatomy, True Blood, and Shameless. Cathryn even has good co-stars in real life—her brother, Ivan de Prume, is a heavy metal drummer, who became famous with the groove-metal band White Zombie.
