The Last Thing Mary Saw (2022)

The Last Thing Mary Saw (2022) is a horror film with a vintage spin! One winter back in 1843 a woman's mother dies mysteriously and she finds herself suddenly under investigation. This Shudder original tells us that Mary had secrets of her own. While she certainly saw something happen - or knows what happened exactly - she keeps her secrets because she has been carrying on a secret lesbian affair with the family's maid. Her family thought that their relationship has brought evil and sin into the house, but it might not be that simple. Is Mary responsible for the mysterious deaths happening in the house? Is she in fact cavorting with the devil? Or is everyone simply freaking out because of Mary's sapphic romance with the maid? You will have to check it out to know for sure! Isabelle Fuhrman plays Eleanor the maid who is the lesbian lover of Mary. Mary is played by Stefanie Scott and the two of them share a very sensual pair of scenes together. The girls make out feverishly in two scenes, one of which is better lit by candlelight. The other scene is fairly dark and still very sexy. Since this is one of those old-timey lesbian movies, we don't get to see much nudity. It's inconvenient to lift all of those heavy skirts and petticoats and to unlace a corset, apparently. We're sure Mary de-clothed her beautiful lover now and then. Come on, movie, show us what Mary really saw in the bedroom.
